Pilgrims arriving at Praza do Obradoiro, Santiago de Compostela

Born on the Portuguese Way

Your Camino doesn't
end in Santiago.
It stays with you.

A silicone band that keeps the photos, notes and moments of every stage. Nothing to install: hold your phone near it and your journal opens.

Let's start with yours

Which one are you walking?

Choose your route and see what Waymino will keep from it: the towns you pass through, the kilometres and the days. The same things you'll see in your video when you arrive.

Where you pass through

A real map: every Camino in its place. Yours in gold, the other nine in the background. Notice how they all end at the same point.

Kilometres are the published figures for each route; stages follow the reference guide (Gronze); and days are an average walking 22-25 km a day — everyone splits it their own way. Below are all the towns where a stage ends. Only the main ones fit on the map, and the line is approximate. Your video will use your real numbers, not these.

The gift of the last day

And when you embrace the Apostle,
your Camino puts itself together.

This is what's waiting for you in Santiago. You don't edit it: Waymino brings together your route, your photos and your notes and hands it back finished. Press play and watch it come together.

This is a simulation with sample photos. Your video has your photos, your notes and your route, and it's created automatically when you arrive.

Not walking it yourself? Then this is for you

They're off to the Camino.
And you're staying here.

Thirty days away, a phone with poor signal and an “I'll call you when I get there”. Waymino won't bring them home sooner, but it does three things for you: it gives them something to keep them company, it puts your mind at rest if something happens, and it leaves you both a memory you'll watch together.

“My mum was going alone. I gave her the band so she could keep the journey. In the end, I was the one who slept soundly.”

If something happens, they know who to call

Whoever finds them just holds their phone near the band: they see your name and your number. Your pilgrim switches it on, field by field, and off whenever they like.

An “I'm fine” without typing a word

On reaching the albergue, one tap tells home where they've stopped. The daily phone call, done in three seconds.

The video you'll watch together

They come home with the trip already put together: their route, their photos, their notes. No need to ask them to tell you everything — you sit down and watch it.

It arrives boxed, with their number

The band, their founder card and a backpack tag with their number embroidered. Ready to give as it is, no wrapping needed.

Try it yourself

This is all a stranger would ever see.

Switch on and off whatever you like: the card on the right changes instantly. With everything off, the band shows no data at all — and that's how it comes out of the box.

What you ask us

Honest questions,
short answers.

Do I need to install an app?

No. Hold your phone near the band and your journal opens in the browser. It works on Android with NFC and on iPhone XS or later. With an older iPhone you can still get in: write to us and we'll send you a direct link to your journal.

What if I have no signal in the hills?

Your photos and notes are saved on your phone and upload on their own when the signal comes back. Some stretches of the Camino have no coverage; we know because we walk it.

Does it track my location all day?

No, and it couldn't even if we wanted to: a web app can't read your location with the screen off. It's read when you open your journal, to tell you how far you have left and pin each photo to its place. No background tracking.

Can it handle rain, sweat and showers?

Yes. Water-resistant silicone, with a clasp designed not to catch on your backpack strap. Put it on on day 1 and keep it on until the Obradoiro.

What size is it? I have slim wrists

One adjustable size, for 15 to 21 cm wrists. It fits slim to wide wrists. If it doesn't fit, return it within 30 days and we'll refund you.

Are my photos private?

Completely. Your journal is private by default: you decide whether to share anything and with whom. You can export it or delete it entirely whenever you want.

Health details in the emergency profile are only saved if you switch them on, one by one, with your explicit consent. We comply with the GDPR because these are your memories, not our product.

Does it get me the Compostela?

No, and we don't want it to. That's what the official pilgrim document is for, the one you get stamped along the way. The official one proves you arrived; Waymino lets you relive it.

When will it arrive?

Orders ship within 48 working hours with Correos, with tracking. Your shipping confirmation also includes your founder number.

What if you stop the project? Do I lose my memories?

Fair question. Your whole journal can be exported — photos, videos and notes — at any time, with a single tap. Nothing stays locked in here.

Who's behind it

“The Camino ends, but it shouldn't be forgotten.”

GustavoO Porriño, Pontevedra · right on the Portuguese Way

I live in a Galician village the Portuguese Way crosses every morning. From here I see pilgrims go by every day: in the rain, in the sun, with blisters and with a kind of hope you can recognise from far away.

Photos get lost in the camera roll, notes stay on paper napkins, and two years later all that's left is “it was amazing”. A journey that changes lives deserved a keepsake to match.

Waymino is designed in Galicia and tested on foot before it's sold: the first photos I ran through the system were my own, from the stretch between O Porriño and Redondela. It's made by a workshop that specialises in silicone; I choose the materials, approve every batch and stand behind it.

I'm making the first 200 while sharing the process along the way: what it costs, what works and what doesn't. If you have any questions before buying, write to hola@waymino.com. I'll reply myself.
